Kiss Me, Kate

As my trip to NY was a bonus, I had not booked any tickets yet. I was torn between Kiss Me, Kate and The Prom, but I saw Kiss Me, Kate by following my heart. I did not check the cast list, because I did not want to know the rundown of the story. I was totally satisfied with this musical. I liked Kate’s solo part, especially. I was really impressed by her beautiful, powerful soprano voice. Her performance was stood out above all the others. Also, the group dance scene was very exciting.

After the musical, I checked the musical information at the hotel. Surprisingly, the leading actress as Kate was Kelli O’Hara. She won a Tony award in 2015 in The King and I. I knew her name, but I did not recognize her from the balcony. Furthermore, this revival musical was a four-month limited performance, so I could see it by chance. I was very lucky. This is so cliche, “So in Love” by Kelli and “Too Darn Hot” are very nice. The lyrics of Wunderbar is stuck in my head. If this musical released Soundtrack CD, I would buy it.
