The liberal arts are academic programmes with their origins in Greek and Roman philosophy. It refers to “the manner of liberation”, “the thinking that sets you free” and “the ability to ask questions”.
Liberal studies in schools have been well established in Hong Kong, but will now be banned. If true, it is time to use liberal ideas for solving the problem, but we must avoid further needless harm to local people. If possible, people have to get out of there… I pity the children of Hong Kong for being forced into a foreign patriotic education.
